Essential InformationGraphic of Predictions and Value Added from SOSCA

SOSCA has been developed to suit schools throughout the UK and overseas, following the English National Curriculum, Scottish 5-14 Guidelines, or the curriculums of Wales or Northern Ireland.  Schools can register from August 2008 onwards to the end of March 2009 for assessing Year 9 / S2 pupils (i.e. age 14) in April-May 2009.

SOSCA can be used:

  • for a standalone assessment of pupil attainment at Year9 / S2,
  • or to predict performance at GCSE / Standard Grade / Intermediates,
  • or to measure Value Added progress from PIPS P7 up to Year 9 / S2,
  • or to measure Value Added progress from MidYIS up to Year 9 / S2,
  • or to measure Value Added progress from Year 9 / S2 up to GCSE / Standard Grade / Intermediates

or for any combination of the above.

See the Outline Timetable for what happens when.
